Happy Friday!! I hope everyone is keeping well and not going too stir crazy in whatever stage of lock down you are currently in. The TGIF team have a great challenge this week with this awesome sketch. Are you up for it? Just click on the banner below to head on over to the challenge site and join in with your own interpretation!
I am still "Paula'fying" the Ornate Garden Suite of products now available in the Stampin' Up! range. The "vintage/ornate" style of this suite doesn't suit my own simpler style, so I am enjoying coming up with ways to make it my own while still using everything that comes in the suite (just not all on one project!).
I had a spare piece of card left over from another project which had Shimmer Embossing Paste over it, to which I had mixed a little So Saffron ink for a really soft coloured look. It looked a little like buttercream icing actually! I didn't want this to go to waste, so I cut a panel using one of the lovely border frames from it then backed it with a dark mat to really make the features of that die pop.
I have watercoloured the large floral image after first stamping on Shimmery White card stock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Apart from the black ink, there are only three other colours used to water colour the image: Highland Heather, Old Olive and So Saffron. By laying down a light wash of colour in each area, then allowing to dry before adding a more intense layer, you can create highlights and low-lights from just one colour of ink!
As you can tell, I have taken a little creative licence with the sketch, and that is ok! You can add your own interpretation too. I hope you will also join in with the #tgifc259 challenge!
If you want the supplies to recreate my project, I would be delighted to be your demonstrator. Click on the pictures below to shop my New Zealand store 24/7!
