HAPPY 2020 to you all!  Welcome to the first TGIF challenge for the new year!  It just so happens to be a colour challenge and we would love it if you joined in with your projects too.  Simply click on the banner below to go to the challenge site and upload your project photo!

I don't mind admitting it was a rather hard challenge simply because Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss are very very similar in colour.  But that is the aim of a challenge, right?

I broke out my Basic Pattern Decorative Masks and sponges for this one.  Using Rich Razzleberry as my main colour, I sponged the ink over the mask from top to bottom of my Very Vanilla card, the heaviest concentration of ink at the top.

I then moved my masked slightly and sponged again.  I repeated that once more to create the dimensional look to the masking.  I removed the mask and sponged more ink across the top of my card to really darken it.  The mat of Very Vanilla behind this piece makes it pop against the Rich Razzleberry card base.

My sentiment was a double banger with one piece heat embossed and the other a stacked die.  I love the boldness of it against the delicate background.  So begins the replenishment of Birthday cards for the year!

If you want the supplies to recreate my project, I would be delighted to be your demonstrator.  Click on the pictures below to shop my New Zealand store 24/7!

  1. Absolutely love how you used the mask on your card. Such a pretty effect.
