JAPANESE INSPIRED - 2020 SAB

Starting January 3rd, 2020, Stampin' Up!'s annual Sale-A-Bration (SAB) period begins!  For a period of three months, you can earn FREE product for every $110 order increment you purchase from any current Stampin' Up! Catalogue.  That is great news, cause on the same day, the January-June 2020 Mini Catalogue goes live as well, giving you even more choice to compliment your craft stash.

I have used two new FREE SAB product choices to create this pretty Japanese inspired card.  The Lily Impressions DSP is a level one SAB choice and a purchase over $110 will get that for you FREE.  The beautiful stamped images all belong to the Power of Hope stamp set.  The Vellum overlay has been embossed with the Stone 3D Embossing Folder.  These two products are bundled together for a level two product choice at a $220 product purchase.

I very rarely use DSP on my cards, but this gorgeous paper has the most beautiful colours in it and I pulled these colours to use on my the artwork.  The Lillie compliment the theme as well!

Starting 2020, Alisa and I have a brand new initiative starting - Classes to Go!  I am first up and my class will be available January 3rd to Australia and New Zealand residents through their respective Demonstrator.  Here's a sneak peek for you!

If you want the supplies to recreate my project, I would be delighted to be your demonstrator.  Click on the pictures below to shop my New Zealand store 24/7!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU 2020 FREE SAB ITEM

With just three more days left until we see in a new year and six days until we see a new Mini catalogue and Sale-A-bration (SAB) begins, now would be a good time to share a card I have made with a new SAB item - Happy Birthday to You stamp set.

This beautiful set includes a large cake image to colour, spots (for a textured or splatter effect), along with three sentiments that you could use for a birthday or other celebrations such as an anniversary or wedding.

I went with a really messy watercolour look.  If you want to achieve the same look, this is how I did it:
  • Colour the stamp using Stampin Write Markers in your choice of colours and stamp on Watercolor Paper using the Stamparatus.
  • Use an Aqua Painter filled with water to "smoosh" the colour around the paper.  You can add more colour by drawing on a clear block with the markers and picking the colour up with your Aqua Painter.
  • Allow the colour to dry.  You can speed this process with a heat tool if you are impatient like me!
  • Recolour the stamp again with the same markers and re-stamp the image for the crisp outlines over the watercolour smoosh.
This is a great way to feel like an artist without having to be precise!

This stamp can't be purchased but you can earn it as your FREE SAB item with any purchase of $110 or more from any current catalogue come January 3rd, 2020.  Roll on Sale-A-Bration!

MY FAVOURITE HOLIDAY SET WITH NO WHITE IN SIGHT!

Today I am combining TWO design team projects into ONE card!  My fancy friends and I have been challenged to use absolutely no white of any kind on our projects! Now THERE'S a challenge!

Over at TGIFC we were challenged to feature our favourite Holiday products for #tgifc243.  You can join in with your favourites too by clicking on the banner above.  This created a "perfect storm" for me and my last Christmas card for the year was created from it!

I chosse to use the Christmas is Gleaming stamp set because it was one of my most used this season but the very biggest challenge was always going to be not using white AT ALL!  Crumb Cake is a lovely neutral and one some of my own idols use A LOT.  I started there not really knowing where I was going with it.  But once I settled on the no-line colouring technique I was away.

I used Stampin' Up!'s Watercolor Pencils but without the water!  I quite often do this as they are lovely to colour with and they take on a more "vintage" look when used on Crumb Cake and to continue the vintage look I embossed the large sentiment from the Greatest Part of Christmas stamp set in gold.

I know my friend Susan will knock this one out of the park.  I am intrigued to see what she has for us!
