CHRISTMAS ROSE TAGS - #TGIFC235

Happy Friday evening everyone!  I hope you have all had a great week.  If you haven't much planned for the weekend, I hope you will join in this weeks challenge over at TGIFC!  It's a sweet one creating tags!  Just click on the banner below to check out the rest of the Design Teams projects and enter your own.

I have featured a beautiful bundle from a product suite called Christmastime is Here which will be available for purchase from November 1st.  I have used the pictured die from the bundle to form my tag tops by using the partial die cutting technique.

The suite is very traditional in it's colours of red, green and gold, so I went way left of center and created my tags in the beautiful Seaside Spray.  It is a lovely wintry colour that works beautifully with the Ice Stampin Glitter I have sprinkled all over.  You can never have too much glitter!

Both tags were coloured using Stampin Blends, although I backed one with cardstock and sponged the other to create an ombre background beneath the sweet Christmas Rose.

If you want the supplies to recreate my project, I would be delighted to be your demonstrator.  Click on the pictures below to shop my New Zealand store 24/7!

WATERFRONT WATERCOLOUR WITH STAMPIN DOWN UNDER

Welcome to another Stampin' Down Under mini Blog Hop, we are happy you are here!  Alisa and I both love to colour in all mediums, and this month we are featuring watercolour backgrounds.

I went with the Pigment Sprinkles to create my background.  To create my card, I first taped down watercolour paper to a clipboard.  This was to help keep it from warping too much as I added a ton of water to get the movement in the pigments you see above.  I mopped up any dark water logged edges with a paper towel and then I left it to dry overnight.  That's it!

Once dry, I removed the tape and cut my card down to leave just a fine, clear border around the background.  The way the colour moved and dried reminded me of a reflection, so that is exactly what I created using the Waterfront stamp set.  I then ran my Aqua Painter over some of the ink to create a watery look in the "water".  To finish my card, I hand drew a sun using Wink of Stella which gives it a lovely sheen!

What I love most about the Pigment Sprinkles is that anyone can become a watercolour artist without having to know anything about watercolouring!  It's a great product to use if you are just starting out.

I have had a sneak peek of Alisa's project and you are not going to want to miss it!    Click on the button below to go visit with her.

ABOVE THE CLOUDS - #TGIFC233 SKETCH CHALLENGE

I don't know about you, but I reckon the TGIFC challenges roll around really fast!  So fast in fact, I was completely unprepared for my turn to design this week and didn't even have my project created as of this morning!  Thankfully the challenge this week is a sketch and I love these as a starting point for inspiration!  Just click on the banner below to join us with your own creation!

I started with the stripes in the sketch and thought I could have "waves" of clouds instead of stripes of any kind and that lead me to the Above the Clouds stamp set!  I kept the colours to a minimum and real "boy" colours - I asked my husband what he liked!

Typical of me, I carried the theme through to the inside of the card and made it a birthday card.  We can never have too many of those, right?!!  I look forward to seeing how you interpret the sketch this week!
