LET'S GET MUSICAL - CREATING KINDNESS BLOG HOP

Ohhhhh!  I love a good challenge and that is just what this months theme with the Creating Kindness blog hop is - a challenge!  The theme is Music and I have NOTHING in my current Stampin' Up! stash that is even remotely musical.  No stamps, no Designer Series Paper - nothing!  So I had to get really creative with the help of Mr Google.  I can't wait to see what the rest of the team and our guest designer this month, Leonie Stuart from Australia, have done for their projects.

Surfing the net for inspiration I stumbled upon an old stereo set up, one that had Graphic Equaliser with lights.  I remembered a stamp that resembled those lights, and guess what?  It was still current!!  Picture me jumping up and down for joy at this point!  No, seriously, I really was.  I grew up in the era of Solid Gold Classic Hits and Casey Kasim, so this was right up my alley.  That time in my life brings back so many fun memories!

I used the image from "A Big Thank You" to recreate the Graphic Equaliser "lights", using the emboss resist technique.  I wanted this to be a good birthday card for a guy.  My colours were Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Night of Navy.

The sentiment was borrowed from the "Geared Up Garage" stamp set and was perfect for my retro musical card.  Isn't it amazing where we can get our inspiration from and then what we can adapt from our stash to fit our needs!  It makes me excited to see what Cheryll has made for us next!
