It's time to celebrate Christmas in July with the TGIFC team! It seems wickedly early to be making Christmas cards, but some like to get a good head start on preparations and this challenge will definitely appeal to them!
I had to get a little creative because I only had ONE
current Christmas stamp set! And even then, I only used the sentiment from it! Then because I could, I went pink and blue. Not very traditional, but I figured, why not?
The Silhouette Scenes stamp set has such cute kids figures in it and these two were perfect for my Santa spotting children! My background has been water coloured on Shimmery White cardstock in Flirty Flamingo, Highland Heather and Night of Navy Ink. Once that was dry, I created a few swirls with water from my Aqua Painter in the sky, then lifted the ink with a paper towel. To make them look really special, as only Santa's contrails would, I added Wink of Stella over the top.
Photographing this shimmer was hard work, but I think you can see it over the whole card in the photo above and because you can never have too much shimmer, I added Rhinestones for good measure!
It's definitely not your traditional Christmas card but I think it represents the wonder of Christmas that kids feel. What do you think? I hope you can play along this week. Click on HERE
