BUBBLE, BUBBLE!!

Today I have a really quick post for you.  Halloween has been a tradition/holiday in a lot of countries for many years, but it is still very new to New Zealand.  I confess to a secret passion for witches and broom sticks, ghosts and ghouls, but mainly in the form of cards!

I have only made one Halloween type card this year sadly! I used a technique called No Line Stamping or No Line Colouring with Stampin' Up!s Watercolor Pencils, minus the water!  These pencils are just beautiful to colour with as is.

I first stamped my image in Sahara Sand ink before colouring my images with the pencils and adding shade to give dimension.  It really is that simple but gives a completely different look to your stamped images.   Happy Halloween to you all!

SIGNS OF SANTA IN BLUE!

I am laying heaps of love on my Stampin' Blends at the moment, especially as my second Blends Club has started, and I have used them again on this Blue Santa.  The Signs of Santa stamp set has to be my most favourite out of this years Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue.  Not only is he cute, but he is large enough, all the images are really, to colour with ease.  No really fiddly, piddly bits!

I have partially heat embossed the background on my card before using my sponge brayers to create an ombre look over top.  The Sheet Music stamp looks patchy - that was on purpose!  I simply pressed the stamp in places with my fingers tips to transfer the ink rather than using a solid block.  I did it this way to give it a more frosty look.

I have added Dazzling Diamonds to the snow, his hat and belt buckle by dipping a cotton bud in Multipurpose Liquid Glue and swiping over the areas I wanted to dazzle. This helped keep the glue thin enough that it doesn't remain tacky through the glitter.  Just watch for any fluffy bits!

16 - NO, MAKE THAT 60!

Have you ever heard an old song called Sixteen Candles?  My dearest friend recently celebrated a milestone 60th birthday, but all I could hear in my head was that song!!  That was enough to give me the inspiration I needed for her birthday card though!

I can't tell you how happy I was with the outcome!  There is 60 candles on this card front - I know, cause I counted a gazillion times to make absolutely sure!  But only one stamp image, masked multiple times, was used to create it.

I used Stampin' Blends to colour the entire card front and they were a dream to use!  I love the sentiment on the front - talk about understatement haha!

This was a labour of love.  It took me two days to complete, mainly because of the sheer number of candles that had to be stamped and masked, but totally worth the effort!

Do you wish you could colour with Stampin Blends?  I have just started a Blends Club and if you live in New Zealand, you can join in too.  I will show you tips and tricks to achieve great results like those above.  Just message me if you would like the details.
