TOTAL ECLIPSE - TOTALLY TECHNIQUES BLOG HOP

I have had the great pleasure of joining the Totally Techniques International Design Team!  As most of you who follow me will know, techniques are close to my heart.  I have been running a monthly techniques class for my customers for some 7 years now!  Nearly all my cards will feature one or more, every time I post!  You may be joining me from the very talented Barbara Meyer, or starting at my blog.  Just be sure to click the "next" button at the end of my post to carry on with the hop.

This month the team are featuring the Eclipse Technique.  This technique is all about die cutting shapes, words or numbers, from your background card, designer paper or artwork and raising it with layers of card or Dimensionals before inlaying it back into the cut out left behind.  It creates a  really subtle, but dimensional look to your card front!

After first protecting the top half of my card by laying down a mask, I sponged various inks over the bottom half creating an ombre effect.  I die cut the word "celebrate" (rather appropriate as I celebrate joining this awesome team) using a gorgeous new Sale-a-bration product, Celebrate You Thinlits.  You can earn these thinlits completely free with a $220 order from any current catalogue.  The best thing is that they will be carrying through to our new annual catalogue in June!  Well worth getting for free, don'tcha think?!

The gorgeous flourish and flowers that I stamped over each ombre layer are another SAB product called Beautiful Peacock, that you can get free for just $110!  So many freebies to choose from.  If you live in New Zealand and don't yet have the Occasions or SAB catalogues, I would love to send you a copy of each.  Just message me!

Next on the hop is Nadine and I can't wait to see what she has created for us!  Click the next button to visit her blog!

PETAL PASSION - STAMP TO SHARE BLOG HOP

Welcome back to 2018 Stamp to Share International Design Team!  Each month we feature a Bundle or suite of products from any current Stampin' Up! catalogues and hope to inspire you with our creations.  You may have just joined me from Moira McIlroy's amazing blog or starting the hop with me.  Just be sure to click the "next" button at the end of the post to carry on around the team.

The Petal Palette bundle is from the brand new Occasions Catalogue, released January 3rd, just in time for Wedding season here in the South Pacific!  With soft watercolour inspired images, the stamp set is perfect for those romantic occasions, including Valentines, which is only a few short weeks away.  Included in the bundle are the Petals & More Thinlits dies.  A set of 10 dies that have a lovely mix of stamp outlines, floral cuts and banners.

I have used the No Line stamping technique on my card which I have only tried a couple of times before.  I first stamped in light Smoky Slate ink on Thick Whisper White card and then used my Stampin' Blends to colour my images before I fussy cut along the bottom of the panel, around the flowers.  I used the gorgeous banner thinlits to create and frame my sentiment, before threading the beautiful 1/4" White Organza ribbon through and tying around the card.  I then popped this panel on my card base with dimensionals.

Next up on the hop is my lovely friend Amy Koenders from the USA.  I can't wait to see what she has for us!

CREATING KINDNESS BLOG HOP - CELEBRATE!

Happy 2018 to you all!!  I hope everyone spent a relaxing Christmas and New Year with their loved ones and recharged those batteries ready for 2018!

I can't think of a better way to start a new year than with a brand new blog hop.  I was delighted and honoured to be invited to join the amazing team of Creating Kindness, a monthly blog hop featuring a new theme each month.  I get to hop with some of my very favourite Stampin' Up! designers!

The Creating Kindness theme for January is "Celebrate" and the team, along with this month's special guest Sara Levin, have projects sure to inspire you!  A new year is always something to celebrate in my books, and while my project can certainly be used for that occasion, I have made this project for someone special, who regularly does things for others with no expectation of anything in return and deserves to be celebrated everyday.

My project features so many new goodies!  For my card and tag I have used the new Sale-a-bration (SAB) stamp set, Amazing You, which is FREE with a qualifying order of $110 until the end of March 2018!

I have heat embossed the sunbursts with white emboss powder on Shimmery White card, before sprinkling with Brusho Crystal Color over each sunburst.  Then I gave the card front a really good spritz of water to activate the ink crystals!  They literally explode on the card!  Its like magic and just makes my heart sing!

Another new SAB product I used on this project is the beautiful Celebrate You Thinlit Dies to create my sentiment banner.  They work perfectly together with this stamp set.  Stampin' Up! have introduced a second level of spend in this years SAB selection and these thinlits are in this level.  Spend $220 and you can select these thinlits for FREE!

My card wouldn't be complete without a gift to go with it and what better way to celebrate someone special than with a wee bottle of bubbles, right?  Keeping the same art theme, I created a Color Burst tag.  I fussy cut around my stamped, heat embossed sentiment before popping it up with dimensionals.  I have noticed a big trend lately in fussy cutting sentiments and just had to try it for myself!

Thank you so much for visiting as I design my first project for the Creating Kindness team!  Now it is time to head over to Carolynn Sander at Care Bear Stamps in Canada!
