TEXT YA LATER - FANCY FRIDAY BLOG HOP

My Fancy friends and I are back with an awesome sketch this month designed by our own Jennifer Timko.  We all loved it so much we have 14 past and present Artisans playing along!

I love a good sketch and quite often use old ones for new inspiration when I am short on ideas!

I really liked the clean lines of this sketch so kept that "clean" theme on my card by not going mad with embellishment "noise".  It's just card, DSP and twine.  Full stop.  Oh, and a stamp set that I haven't shown much love to.  I had to remedy that!

I did have someone in mind when I made it though.  This person is one of my team mates who has reached a qualification level as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and I want to congratulate her!

We often communicate by text, so the Text Ya Later stamp set was a perfect one to use.  The screen image mirrored Jenn's focal point on her sketch, and I just went from there.

Next up on the Fancy Friday hop is my very good friend, Susan Wong.  Susan has recently been announced as New Zealands' next Artisan representative for 2018.  Congratulations Susan ♥

GIFTS FOR MY SWEET - STAMPIN' UP! ARTISAN BLOG HOP

Welcome to the Stampin' Up! Artisan blog hop.  You have probably just arrived from Miriam van Eyden's beautiful blog.   If you are just starting the hop here, be sure to hit the "Next" button at the end of this post to continue on to the next artisan.  You won't want to miss anything!

With Christmas just around the corner, I thought it time to start thinking about colour schemes that I might decorate the house with this year.  I love Black and White, non-traditional I know, but really elegant and I am definitely leaning that way for the 2017 festive season.

So when we were asked to feature the Merry Little Labels stamp set, I thought I would get a head start on that theme with my Artisan projects this month!

The card I have made is actually going to be a menu for my Christmas table (once we decide what we are having!) so I have left it blank on the inside for now.  This particular sentiment grabbed my attention.  I love the size and mix of fonts, and it looks fabulous heat embossed in white on a black background.  BTW, the kitchen may as well be in the North Pole for me lol, as my sweetie does most of the cooking in our household!  I have used the Merry Little Christmas Designer Paper as my background, keeping that black & white theme going.

I know it is traditional to have a Christmas Cracker at each place setting, but this year I thought I would mix it up and have a gift of mints on each plate instead.  It is something for each person to take home and enjoy long after the meal is over.  I have heat embossed the sentiment in white again and used the Everyday Label Punch to create the tag.  The gorgeous striped ribbon adds the final touch of elegance to this little gift of sweets.

Next up on the hop is the fabulous Rochelle Blok in Australia and I know she will have worked her usual magic with this sweet bundle of products!

HEARTS COME HOME - STAMP TO SHARE

Welcome to the Stamp to Share blog hop for November where the team are featuring either the Hearts Come Home bundle or the Ready for Christmas bundle.  That's right, it was a bit of multi choice this month!

I love the Hearts Come Home bundle because it appeals to the scene maker in me so much!  The dies are gorgeous with three lots of houses and landscapes, of varying sizes, to choose from and they look absolutely spectacular against a sponged night sky!

I have sponged four colours to create the background, after first masking off a moon.  I used Soft Sky, Powder Pink, Perfect Plum and lastly, Elegant Eggplant, a deep, rich purple to finish!  After removing the moon mask, I stamped Santa and the team in Archival Black ink.  I wanted the houses to look like someone was home, so I added tiny Crushed Curry card pieces behind the die cut windows - so ca-ute!

Can you see how shiny the windows are?  I made them look more like glass by using a Fine-tip Glue pen to fill them all in.  The glue dries clear and shiny - boom!
