I can't believe another month has gone by and the Stamp to Share Design Team are hoping together again already! This month, we bring you Painted Harvest inspiration! I have taken a Sunflower and made it into a Gerbera. Maybe not a perfect Gerbera, but you can use your imagination here! A dear friend lost her Mum to Alzheimer's recently and Gerbera's were her favourite flower. When creating this Sympathy card for the family it was important to me to have something she loved on the card. I hope when they look at it, they do so with smiles on their faces.
How did I get the dark green ring around the flower centre? I used an old favourite technique - Rock n' Roll! Using a light and dark ink in the same colour range, in this case, green, ink up your stamp in your light colour. Then with the dark ink, just "roll" the edge of the stamp image around on the pad, without inking the centre of the image, then stamp. It is that easy. To complete my card (it was hard to photograph) I have placed three small pearls in the centre of each flower. Did you know Pearls are known for their calming effect? I hope these ones work their magic for my friend.
