Welcome to the brand new Stamp to Share International Design Team Blog Hop! You have probably just arrived here from my very good pal (and founder of this hop!) Sandi MacIver.  Make sure you continue on the hop by selecting the Next button at the bottom of this post.  You don't want to miss a thing!

Stamp to Share is a monthly blog hop featuring nine designers from around the world.  Each second Wednesday of every month we will each feature two projects showcasing one Bundle of Stampin' Up! product to inspire you.  To kick start things off we are using the Lift Me Up Bundle!

The first card I am featuring is a monochrome card.  All blacks, white and greys, with lots of repeat stamping on the background card.  This is a bit of an addiction for me at the moment!  I enjoy creating my own DSP look.

On a separate piece of Whisper White card, I sponged Archival Black, Basic Grey and Smoky Slate inks creating an ombre look by blending the inks together.  I then lay the largest balloon die over the sponged colour and die cut it.

The sentiment banner was stamped in Archival Black in on a strip of Vellum and then wrapped around the sides of my cloud base.  While I like the monotone look of this card, you could really add some WOW by sponging a coloured balloon background instead!

My next project is a birthday card for my SIL (I feel confident she won't see this post!).  It is also a play on words as her birthday is on the 9th of March!  Once again, I used my favourite technique - sponging!  After sponging, I used a stitched square framelit to die cut some "windows" before popping a small balloon over the scene.

I have carried the design to the inside of her card too and stamped the birthday sentiment in there as well.  I love the effect of writing over the artwork.

Next up on the hop is my lovely friend Caroline van der Straaten in the Netherlands.

  1. WOw, Wow, Wow, so many great ideas in just two projects. I love your black and white theme, and stamping your own designer paper, I have to try that and then the lovely window card, with the beautiful sponged clouds - you rock my friend

  2. Dear Paula,

You cards are so beautiful! Thanks to share the ombre technic for your big balloon in your first card, thats a wonderful idea :) . First paint and second punch out with the big shot, so amazing! Your second card is lovely, too. I love the sponging idea with the sky and punch it out to individual squares, it's look like real :) .

Thanks for your amazing ideas on our first international blog hop. I'm looking forward to the next hop :).

    Big hugs,

  3. Paula Dobson, I love your style! Your cards are even more beautiful in real life.
You have done a wonderful job spunging. Love the ombre effect on the big ballon.
And the clouds on the other card are just wonderful.
Also love the colors you have used and the hardwood background.
I wouln't have thought of using that one with this set. Brilliant!
Looking forward to next month and see what you have made.
I will give you backlink on that one. I forgot this time. I am so sorry...starting problems...

    Hugs from NL,

    Caro x

  4. Lovely cards Paula, great ideas for futurer workshops.

  5. Love them both! Your card in the neutrals is stunning and those fluffy clouds sponged all over the background are beautiful. Definitely makes me feel like I'm floating right up there with them! :)

  6. Obsessed with these projects Paula, the sponging one is my fave but equally I appreciate your monochromatic project. Monica xx

  7. Two fabulous cards, love them both, but for some reason the monochrome one has really taken my fancy. Thanks, Paula, for explaining how you achieved the graduated colour.

  8. I adore the monochrome card you've made. The shading on the big ballon adds so much to the 3D look. Wonderful work!

  9. Just a bit groovy Miz Paula, love love love them xox

  10. Oh Paula - Stop it already!! These are incredible. You rock girlfriend.

  11. Hi Paula so many great ideas its so perfekt for my next Workshops. Thank you so much. i love this.

  12. Wow - both these projects are incredible - from one of my two favorite stamp sets. From the ombre hot air balloon to the 6-pane window. Pinning to try later!
