I have used the sketch on a portrait style card rather than a landscape (you can do that!). A 14.8cm card front was just a little too wide to get the gorgeous stamps from the SAB set Delicate Details to fit across the card front in one go and I didn't want an accidental break in the design.
I first heat embossed the lace images in White on Shimmery White card before adding a water colour wash over the top, using a palette of three colours on each card to create an ombre effect. After trimming to size, I popped this piece up on the card front with Dimensionals. I then added just a thin strip of card in one of the colours on the water colour panel above that, before then adding a ribbon in yet another of the three original colours I used.
The Bermuda Bay 1/8" Stitched Ribbon was perfect for the blue card but I had to colour the ribbon myself for the purple card, using a Stampin' Write Marker and the White 1/8" Grosgrain ribbon from the Sending Love Ribbon Combo Pack (Occasions Catalogue pge.15). I love that everything in the Stamp' Up! range colour coordinates and if they don't have something in a particular colour, such as my ribbon, you can colour it yourself!
I then carried the ombre colour to the sentiment inside to finish off this pretty card.
This is a great little sketch this week and lends itself to clean and simple designs. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Be sure to link your entries to the Global Design Project page. Have fun!
