I love colour challenges, but sometimes they can be just that - a challenge! I must admit to not being a subtles girl, so this colour combination actually had me stumped for a while. It took me out of my comfort zone, but enabled me to make a project I really like! Isn't that what a challenge is all about?
I have used a lot of white space on my card, stamped a random pattern using the Endless Thanks stamp set, and added a simple banner sentiment across the width of my card, with a little bling.
My favourite part of the project is this wee box which I filled with chocolate, of course! The very talented Erica Cerwin has a video on how to make this sweetie. I simply made mine just a tad taller to hold more chocolate. After all, you can never have too much!
My card had flowers on it and so does the wee tag on the box. I wanted to decorate the box with a belly band topped with a flower too. To create the flower, I die cut 8 petals using the Bouquet Bigz die, then pulled each petal between my thumb and a bone folder a number of times to break the card stock fibres. This also causes the card to separate into two pieces, giving me 16 petals with a lovely soft suede-like texture. I used a hot glue gun to stick all my petals together, arranging them into a rose.
I am so excited to be designing with such amazing Stampin' Up! artists and I invite you to head over the Global Design Project website and check out their amazing designs. I look forward to having you join in with our challenges too!
