A LITTLE THANKS

I wanted to share a quick little Thank You card I made for a friend to show my appreciation of her.  I needed something quick, so I used a solid leaf image and outline to create a random pattern, three colours of ink and some matching sequins.
To add some interest and texture to an otherwise one layer card, I added some Gold Metallic thread and a wood veneer word.  I really liked how this turned out, as I had no clear plan when I started.  I know she was pleased with it and now has another card she can gift to someone else.

To attach the sequins I used a new glue pen that will be available for purchase from September 1st, in the new Holiday catalogue.  It is called a Fine Tip Glue Pen, is just $14.50, and is perfect for gluing small embellishments, glitter, paper cut outs etc to projects.  I think this is my new favourite "must have" adhesive!  Add it to your wishlist, because you are going to love it too!

SAVE THE DATE!

I have a secret I can finally share!!  I am honoured to be designing for the Global Design Project, a brand spanking new challenge site.
I am so excited to be designing with some amazing superstars of the Stampin' Up! family from all around the world.  We launch on the 7th of September, so mark your calendars and come check out who the rest of the DT are - you will be glad you did!

That means, of course, that I will be sharing more projects than I have been recently.  That's a good thing - right?!  I have one I want to share with you today.

I love the Tap, Tap, Tap stamp set.  The old fashioned typewriter is jut so ca-ute! Mine really hasn't seen much ink, so today, it got a work out.  I have created a single layer card (except for the tiny "hello") using masking and sponging.  I find trying to get a subtle blend using sponges very therapeutic!  I have needed a little of that today.  Hope you like!

LET'S GET AWAY

Do you ever feel the need to just jump in the car and get away?  I do!  Since that is not always possible, I settled for inking up a stamp set I have had for a while and just not used, aptly named Let's Get Away.  I have no idea why I haven't used it before now, cause it is just so cute!

All my hills are hand cut (I don't own any dies that will cut them for me - yet!) and then I sponged around the edges to create depth.  I used the arrow stamp in this set to create the hillside trees.  I masked and sponged in the road and added my car and camper before stamping my sentiment.  Not my usual serious kinda card, but I love the fun of this one.  I hope you do too!

SHARING IN YOUR SORROW

Nobody wants to have to make Sympathy cards, and we normally don't.  But there can't be anything worse than making one when you have just suffered a loss.  My tip is to make just a couple of cards to have on hand and just pop them away until they are needed.  I made this one recently to put in my own card stash.
I wanted to keep things fairly minimal so I only used two colours, Basic Black and Wisteria Wonder, and two stamp sets, Wild About Flowers and Thoughts and Prayers.  I used an acetate cloud mask I made a while back to sponge the clouds in.  I tore a Post-it note and sponged Basic Black ink along the bottom of the card to create the ground, then stamped both the image and sentiment in Basic Black Ink as well.  I finished the base of the card using  three White Perfect Accents.

Any of the products I used to create this card can be found at my Online Store.  Just click on any of the pictures below to shop with me.
