Now, on to my must answer questions about my work and creative process that may (or may not!) interest you......
Question 1: What am I working on right now?
Lots of secret squirrel stuff going on right now!! I am helping one of my lovely downline next weekend at a Craft show. It is such a great way to meet new crafty people and showcase the great product that is Stampin' Up!
The following weekend, I am running an annual stamp camp with a fellow demonstrator. So I am putting the finishing touches to my class and lots of other surprises we have in store for the girls coming along.
Of course, Christmas is only a little over three months away, so designing Christmas classes is also at the top of my list. I am so lucky to do what I do!!
Question 2: How does my work differ from others in my genre?
I don't know that my work differs really, because it changes and evolves. My first love is sponging landscape type cards, but I really have moved away from that style, for the time being. Now I dabble in trends I see developing. I teach a regular monthly techniques class, so I have to try new things all the time. I stops me getting stale and stuck in a rut, that's for sure.
Question 3: Why do I create what I do?
Such a simple answer - because I LOVE it!!! I really, really, love creating mini works of art that I can give away and make other people happy.
Question 4: How does my creative process work?
That's not so easy to answer! Sometimes things come together really quickly, other times it is a struggle! I love Pinterest for tonnes of ideas from other artists. I like to CASE (copy and share everything) other artists when ideas are slow to come, but the projects normally end up taking on a life of their own and don't resemble my starting point at all by the time I am finished.
A couple of artists who never fail to inspire me are Teneale Williams and Jacqui Williams - not related, lol!! And I now nominate these two very talented ladies to join in this Blog Hop! Luckily for me, both of them have said yes!!
Teneale Williams is a wonderful Stampin' Up! friend I have known for about five years now. I met her in Sydney when I literally stalked her!! She was so gracious and actually talked to me again the following year when we bumped into each other again, lol. I am a huge fan of the many layers Teneale loves to use and the incredible depth of colour she achieves on all her projects. Her attention to detail just blows my mind!
