JUST ADD INK #228

It is time for another colour challenge at Just Add Ink this week.  I challenge YOU to join in with this one!

Another colour combination that had me going "Oh, oh!!" Who thinks these up?!!  However, I did find inspiration in the achievement of our beautiful daughter, who had just aced her Hairdressing exams.  I had to send her a card to celebrate, of course!

I used the new Stampin' Up! Dots & Stripes mask to create the circles with a sponge dauber.  The sentiment was bold, proud and loud!!  Just how we felt about her doing so well.  Of course, no card for a girl is complete without bling!

I added just a few of the dots to the inside too, and added this cool sentiment to finish it all off.

I hope you feel inspired to join us this week.  Drop in to Just Add Ink and see what the design team have created for you with this colour combination.

A WONDERFUL CRAFTY WEEKEND WITH FRIENDS!

Last Saturday, I held a Stamp Day here in Wanganui for the second year running.  Wow, what a day!!  I can't think of a better way of spending my time than with 27 other passionate stampers!  They came from far and wide, and some even stayed the whole weekend!  I took plenty of photo's, but being behind the camera, not a single one of me in there, lol

Every guest had a coordinating water bottle and pouch (with chocolate) at the table to welcome them.

Delys Cram taught a beautiful scrapbook page.  Jill and Vicki looking very pleased with their pages!

I had not one, but three make & takes for everyone to try.  Delys is showing off the gorgeous new Blendabilities to this avid group of gals.

The new Crumb Cake Notecards and Envelopes.  Another M&T.

Diane Taylor showing the girls how that M&T was put together with Flower Patch photopolymer stamps and framelits.

The class I taught involved the new Stampin' Up! Masks.  It did get rather messy!

But just look at the end result!

I think this was a pretty popular class!

My second card used the striped mask for a plaid effect.

I also had displays for people to enjoy.  This wee baby was such a labour of love.  The initial idea came from some of my fellow demo's who came together to make a gorgeous sampler which they then gave to the SU Australian office.  I wanted one for myself.  I did CASE three of the original mini works of art from the origianl grid, but the other 13 are all my own work.

EVERYONE HAS A RAINY DAY

Everyone has a rainy day and yesterday was no exception, literally!  We even had a dump of hail come through at one point.  Got to love winter!  So once I finished my day job, I decided a little (and I mean little) crafting was in order.

I quickly whipped up this wee gift tag to dress up a stamp gift, using the cutest fox image from the hostess set, Life's Advenure, and my Blendabilities.  You can't tell in this photo, but I also popped the umbrella up using Dimensionals.  I love the new In colours and used the Lost Lagoon Ribbon and a Blackberry Bliss peg to embellish and finish my tag.  See the Rhinestone on the peg?  I coloured that with my Blendabilities too, to match my project!

Are you coming along to my Wanganui Retreat this coming Saturday?  Then you will see this and many more new samples on display.  I can't wait to share with you!

JAI #226 - KINDA ECLECTIC SKETCHED

Happy Friday!  Join me at Just Add Ink this week for an awesome sketch challenge!

I take these challenges literally and find it hard to think outside the box.  I am always amazed at what others actually see and come up with.  Check out the rest of the DT submissions HERE.

I resisted the urge to use a die cut circle, and opted to use a stamped image and partial die cut circle instead. I also broke out my sponges since I haven't created with this look in quiet some time.  Using Kinda Eclectic, I heat embossed the sun image and sponged colour straight over the top.  I love the bold leaves along the bottom, which I stamped, and sponged, in Mossy Meadow ink. The vellum flag was a subtle way to add the sentiment without taking over the card, but still using the design element from the sketch.

We would love to have you play along at Just Add Ink this week.  I look forward to seeing your take on this weeks sketch!
