One type of card I seemed to always be short of, is baby cards, and to be honest, I don't have much in the way of Baby themed stamps and papers etc. I set myself a challenge to make a simple baby card using the Jumbo Wheel stamp "Baby Tees", since it really is the only decent sized baby image I have. But I didn't want a string of images.
So what did I do? I paper pieced it instead! I inked and stamped my wheel across a gender neutral DSP, actually, it is the same DSP in the background, called Nursery Nest. Then I simply applied shadows to the Onsie with markers and cut out. I adhered this piece to the front of my card with dimensionals to pop it up off the card base. Then I inked my sentiment stamp from "Word Play" using markers to achieve the two toned colours. I then decided to round just the top right hand corner of my card, for a little bit of interest on an otherwise clean and simple card.
AWESOME. Absolutely awesome...
ReplyDeletePaula this is an awesome cute baby card. Considering you don't have much in the way of baby craft supples you've done an excellent job - love that sentiment for a baby!
