Well, have I had an interesting week!! I just had to share this photo taken from our deck! So what, it's just snow right?!! Wrong - it's SNOW!! We don't get snow!! Even on the worst day of winter, we don't normally see this white stuff.
It has been a challenging week though. Watching cars slip and slide outside our place and having to get towed, once they lost traction. People abandoning their cars, and walking the rest of the way home. Couldn't even get out to work on Tuesday!! Never thought I could use "snowed in" as an excuse for the boss!!
So I spent my day off making a card that I thought was very fitting on this occasion! I love the sentiment stamp "Remember When", because this is a card I intend keeping, to remind me of this incredible event!!
I have used Concord Crush as the card base and the new In-colour, Wisteria Wonder for the snowy background. Of course, I pulled out my Brayer for this card. I am so glad I have something (apart from a cold) to remember this incredible winter by!
I was wondering when we were going to get a personal pic - the TV footage was amazing. You guys have certainly had everything 'weatherwise' thrown at you this year. A beautiful card, too.ReplyDelete
Wow, Paula! Awesome photo! I have a friend in Methven, and I've been wishing I was there by the fire with her all week. :-) I love snow and we truly never get any here in Brisbane, LOL.ReplyDelete
That card is beautiful, great innovative use of all those stamps!
Gorgeous card Paula - I was playing with LAAT and a snow mask myself just yesterday! Although, luckily, our weather has been nowhere near as bad as yours! Hope you managed to keep warm and dry and weren't too sad at missing a day of work!ReplyDelete
It's so hard to look at snow when we (U.S.A.) are enjoying summer! But it's refreshing since it's in the 80's/90's here in Wisconsin. HOWEVER, we know it's coming! Anyhow, I really enjoy your card ideas and check on your web page daily. Thanks for your creativity!ReplyDelete
I wouldn't of thought of using concord crush for a snow card- but it works- this is one of my fav combos of stamps :-) Debi xReplyDelete
Such a lovely card to remember the occasion. I love snow and since it is in the mid-90's here, I wish I were there enjoying it with you :)ReplyDelete
Love it Paula. What a fabulous way to remember the cold/icy weather. It wasn't as bad over our way, even though it did snow it didn't settle into much more than a really heavy frost.ReplyDelete
How exciting....love the snow. Maybe you and the kidos could make snow men.... and scrap a page. Take care MelReplyDelete
Brrr Paula. I really don't like the cold, but it's very exciting when it's a one off. Love your card. The snow & sky layers are so effective. Fab!. Stay warm. DiReplyDelete
Oh how exciting Paula ... my family live in Wellington and they have found the event to be so exciting and such a novelty, cos being a from the area ... I know it does not snow there!!!!ReplyDelete
What a lovely card to commemorate the event!!!
Wish I was there ...
Totally jealous Paula!! The view from your window and the lovely card you made are both stunning.ReplyDelete
Second card to go into my TO CASE file from my visit to your blog today. This is sensational. Forgot how much I love this border punch. Hugs xxaxxReplyDelete
