ORNATE GARDEN - PAULA'FIED

Do I have a treat for you today!  If you are a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator then you may already have a delicious suite called Ornate Garden in your hot little hands.  As a customer, this is a suite of products that you will be able to order from me in April.  What makes it so special is that it is an early release of product available in the 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue which will be released in June!!

I love the Retro feel and colours of this suite even though it actually doesn't suit my own style.  But I don't let that stop me from purchasing product.  I look at ways I can fit these products to suit projects or even Paula'fy them as I have done with today's card.

I adore the large floral image from the set Ornate Style because I can colour it!! I broke out my Stampin' Blends and created an "almost" no line art piece.  I could have gone a little lighter on the outline, but I do like that you can subtly see it.

I kept my colour pallet soft and feminine and a little unusual!  I just mixed colours together I thought would look good.  I certainly wasn't trying for realistic.

I also sponged two diagonal corners of my card base just to frame these pretty flowers.  I wanted the flowers to be the hero on this card so I left off all additional forms of embellishment, such as ribbons, twine or bling.  My finished card is so my style!  Clean, minimal fussy layers and fairly modern.  Hope you like it too!

The Ornate Garden Suite of products will be available for purchase to customers from 1st April, 2020.

If you want the supplies to recreate my project, I would be delighted to be your demonstrator. Click on the pictures below to shop my New Zealand store 24/7!

  7. WOW! Paula, this is stunning! I absolutely adore it. What did you use to mask the edges so your sponging came out like that? And did you use just blends to color or also ink pads, since I see them in your product list. Wow...I can't get over the beauty of this!

  8. Thanks Bobbi. I used Post-it type tape to mask off my edges and then gently sponged colour on to the card base. I only used Blends on the flowers themselves :-)
