BOTANICAL BUTTERFLY - FANCY FRIDAY BLOG HOP

Welcome to the Fancy Friday blog hop.  If this is your first visit to our hop, welcome!  We are a group of past and present Stampin' Up! Artisans who love to craft together and bring you inspiration on the last Friday of every month.

This month we are all bringing you our favourite picks from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.  It was hard to narrow it down to just one item, so I have used two on my project!  I simply love the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper as my free choice but not because I love Butterflies (which I do but....) I love that one side of each sheet is coloured and the other, black & white.  This gives you options to use the colour combinations that Stampin' Up! have suggested or, as I have done, select your own colours to coordinate with your project designs.

I have kept my card really simple and just coloured in the background of this beautiful paper using one Stampin' Blend, the light Granny Apple Green.  I chose that colour because it was the closest match to the Lemon Lime Twist Organdy Ribbon, another free SAB selection, and the Lemon Lime Twist Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins.  This reminded me of the mindful colouring books!  I enjoyed doing this so much I then went on to make a card in every colour from the Organdy Ribbon Pack!  The two cards below are Calypso Coral and Balmy Blue.

Please click the button below to head on over to Sylwia's blog to see what her favourite Sale-A-Bration item is.  Whatever her pick, I know her project will be a winner!

DISNEY INSPIRED CHALLENGE FOR YOU! - #tgifc195

Who doesn't love Disney?  We all grew up with it and #tgifc195 is all about being Disney inspired this week!

I simply can't help it.  I take these challenges literally.  If it is a colour challenge, I will only use those colours.  If it is a sketch challenge, I will follow it exactly!  So Disney inspired meant Mickey Mouse to me.  Hello people!.............I have'nt got a Mickey Mouse anything in sight. I find it incredibly hard to "break out" haha!  As I stood staring at all my stamps in a daze, scratching my head, my eyes landed on the Magical Mermaid stamp set and I got excited!!

Say hello to Arial!  This little Mermaid hasn't seen an awful lot of inky love from me, so I was pleased to be able to use her on this underwater shaker card.  I used my Stampin' Blends to colour her.  I was pleased with the detailed scales in her tail and added some Wink of Stella to make it shine.

The colours on this card were totally inspired by the Tranquil Textures Sprinkles I used in the shaker window.  You can see a little bit of everything in there!

We would love to have you join in with this fun challenge this week.  Head on over to the TGIF Challenge Blog and upload a project that has you Disney Inspired with #tgifc195!

BUTTERFLY GALA - #tgifc193

Happy New Year to you all!  With the new year comes exciting new things for me and one of them was being invited to join the amazing TGIF team of designers!  I am delighted to bring you my first design for this awesome challenge site today!

I love a good colour challenge and this one features a classic combination of green, pink and grey.  Now that the Occasions catalogue is live, I had a whole heap of new product to choose from to use! I chose the Butterfly Gala bundle and teamed it with a Sale-A-Bration freebie - Botanical Butterfly DSP.  You can earn this DSP for FREE when you purchase current Stampin' Up! products to the value of $110 NZD from me.

I chose this DSP because one side of every sheet is black and white and you can add any colour to make it suit your projects.  I sponged Melon Mambo ink over top of one sheet for a nice bright pop of colour.
I was inspired to use a card map designed by my good friend Teneale Williams.  I love the balance of all the elements and the bold focal point of the circle.  My project turned out even better than I had imagined it!

Have you got a project percolating in your head using these colours as well?  We would love you to share you project with us.  Head over to #tgifc193 and join in the fun!
