BEACHSIDE ICECREAM - CI#03

Welcome to another Colour Inkspiration blog hop.  You may have just arrived here from the clever Mel Pagano.    So how does this work?  This colour challenge has a real beachy feel to it.  I think the colour swatch is a dead giveaway anyway!

So that was the theme I stuck with too.  But rather than add fish, crabs and starfish, which was my immediate thought. I went with Tasty Trucks from the SAB catalogue instead.  You can have this stamp set FREE with a $110 order!  It is super cute, so fun to colour and I am happy I have finally been able to get some ink on it!

I pulled out my sponges to create a seaside theme and then used Watercolour on the cute Ice cream Truck.  Rather than stamp a bold sentiment, I stamp my sentiment repeatedly in the sky with the same blue I sponged in.  It helped to break up that expanse of space but also added visual texture.  I really like how it looks and plan to use that technique again!  Next up on the hop is fellow Kiwi and good friend Jackie Noble.  Keep hopping for plenty more great ideas!

  3. Paula I was so focused on your fabulous colouring of the truck and the sand dunes that I hadn't paid much attention to the sky, but I love it! I'm so keen to get enough time to ink up this set

  11. Brilliant water colouring and singing as always. I love the little detail near the tyres on the sand. Did you free hand draw all those little dots? It looks totally fabulous.

    1. Thanks Julia, it has been a while since I pulled out my sponges. Yes, I did hand draw the sand under the wheels just to add shadow.
