CASE THE DESIGNER - GDP072

It's CASE the Designer week at Global Design Project and this week it's the lovely Krista Frattin we are being inspired by.  CASE means to Copy And Selectively Edit.  Take elements from the original project that inspire you and make your own project.

I had a few ideas come to me straight away, but the project I ended up with wasn't the one I actually had in mind.  This had a life of it's own!  AND........it's not a card!  Ok, you can get up now.

I loved the neutral colour scheme of Krista's card, the glassine overlay and the little pop of colour in the flower embellishment and those are the elements I brought to my project.  Forget the sewing machine.  Isn't going to happen.  (For those of you who missed this design element, Krista sewed the glassine sheet to her card base!)

I used the new Glassine sheets from the Occasions Catalogue to create a mini treat bag.  These sheets have a sweet little printed element on them, and they cut beautifully when put through the Big Shot.  I stamped a strip of Whisper White card with the netting image from Butterfly Basics, which Krista used on her sentiment panel, before snipping the ends to form a banner.  Once I added the burplap ribbon over top. it reminded me of a chicken coop, hence the eggs!

The Basket Bunch bundle was perfect for my idea, even if a little early for easter! This is a seriously cute set I know I will get a lot of use from this year.  It helped to dress up my banner and take it from farmyard to all about chocolate in a few cranks of the Big Shot handle!  The little eggs are my pop of colour element on my project.

Head on over to Global Design Project for a closer look at Krista's inspiration piece and see what the rest of the incredible design team have for your viewing pleasure.  We hope to see an entry from you!

  1. Paula, this Easter project is seriously gorgeous! I've studied it - like I do with all your projects - and I love the little detailed eggs and basket. Beautifully photographed too. I agree - I'm not digging out my sewing machine either! xo

  2. love this! I am a sucker for a treat bag. I bought this bundle and have yet to use it. I must confess that I purchased it because I never have Easter stamps and never do Easter projects ... It was not something that I was dying to have. I was trying to challenge myself. I can not wait to use it now that I see your project! Thank-you for inspiring me!

  3. What a sweet project...from the delicate details on the bag, the layers of ribbons, stamped pendant tag, basket of eggs, and the gold clip! This set was not on my list, but your precious creation has moved it on my list! Thanks for sharing your creativity!!!
